Barnabrow Bridgerton Afternoon Tea
The 5th Day of September 1824
Dearest Gentle Reader
A new year’s calendar is upon us and the social whirl continues its relentless pace. The ton is abuzz with the talk and gossip of the accomplishments and accoutrements of the 1824 season’s debutantes.
Ladies, we must have an urgent assembly to become familiar with the sly and artful concoctions that lie before us.
Lady Gladys Plucheck-Murphy is stealing the limelight as yet, much to the chagrin of the Duchess of Kilcrone Hall, with her high hopes that her own scion, Lady Pamela Nottsbury–O’Sullivan, would capture the prize this season, whom, I am reliably informed is quite the catch indeed.   Let her hope in obliviousness say I…
To this end, let us rendezvous at the Tea Rooms at the magnificent Barnabrow House on 21 September at 1pm or 3.30pm sharp to take Tea – Afternoon Tea. We may also take a tipple or two. In fact bottomless.
Please urgently reserve your table – place are limited for only the most special invitees.
Modern conveniences such as info@barnabrowhouse.ie may be availed of to facilitate your endeavours. All for the mere trifle of €50 – an excellent investment in your precious daughter’s future – me thinks…
Please dress for the occasion and be on your best Bridgerton behaviour throughout. Barnabrow House may have a few additional props lying about to enhance your appearance? ( God knows some of you need it!)
Lady Whistledown will be watching and listening…

Barnabrow Country House Cork
Like a secret garden that beckons. Visitors may happen upon it nestled in the rolling hills of East Cork with distant but tantalising glimpses of Ballycotton Bay. At first glance it appears contained – its banqueting hall, high on the hill, is not obvious, the twenty-two bedrooms are tucked away in various courtyards and the cottages are not apparent.
Intimate Weddings in East Cork
An idyllic, country setting can be exclusively yours: our intention is to wrap you in a cocoon of intimacy. The mature grounds of the estate are for your personal memories, the cosiness of Mor Chluana cottage for drinks before dinner, and the grandeur of the medieval-style banqueting hall with its renowned chef and famed food for your wedding feast.
