Barnabrow celebrates 20 years of “I do’s”
To celebrate our 20th Anniversary, Barnabrow Country House hosted a family garden party which was held on Sunday, June 26th.
The event was an afternoon of romance and reminiscing as Barnabrow invited all those who celebrated their weddings in the stunning East Cork venue over the last two decades to join them for Barnabrow’s very own ‘special day’.
The garden party, kicked off with a Prosecco reception from 3pm was a perfect family day out with live music, canapes, entertainment for kids and a cookery demonstration by Barnabrow’s Michelin-trained chef Stuart Bowes.
Over the last 20 years, over 1000 couples have celebrated their weddings in the hidden gem of Barnabrow which is nestled into the rolling hills that surround the breathtaking coastline of Ballycotton Bay.
According to Geraldine Kidd, who has been at the helm of Barnabrow for 20 years, the anniversary was the perfect opportunity to bring together all those whose happiest and most cherished wedding memories were created in the venue.
“In many cases, it is the wedding guests who get to enjoy the food and setting on the day far more than the bridal party who are taken up with the pictures, making sure they chat to everyone, worrying about speeches and so on. This was our way of bringing couples back, often for the first time since their wedding, so that they could fully enjoy Barnabrow at their own pace and without stress. We really enjoyed this very special day, meeting all those who chose Barnabrow for their big day.”
The anniversary celebration gave couples the opportunity to reminisce about their wedding while enjoying the idyllic setting and meandering labyrinth of buildings, pathways and secret gardens of Barnabrow.
Thank you to all of our special couples and their families!
