Such a Nice Review?

We were so delighted to receive this review that we feel we have to share it.  Tom and Paraic got married here on a balmy day last August.

The search for a wedding venue didn’t last much longer once we arrived at Barnabrow. From the moment we were pulling up through the narrow tree-lined gravel track, I instantly knew this was the place I wanted us to get married; thankfully it didn’t take much convincing for Páraic to also agree. The venue is so idyllic and unique, we were sure our guests would be as enthralled by it and their own accommodation as we were. Spread over 3 levels, and 3 different buildings, one of the greatest attractions for us was that we had free reign of the entire venue with no unexpected strangers to worry about (well, other than meeting some of the in-laws for the first time!) – we had visited a few hotels en route that didn’t come close to the intimacy of this venue no matter how hard they tried, with perfect seclusion and privacy. Barnabrow is a collage of beautiful photo opportunities, from the mossy steps back from the main house, to the giant climbing push that you had to duck through to grab a glass of bubbles, it was like stepping into a Jayne Austin novel.

Whilst we fell in love with the idea of holding the ceremony in the fairy grove, we decided for accessibility reasons to hold the ceremony in front of the main house overlooking the fields and distant shoreline – and we’re so glad we did. The florist and staff at Barnabrow had set it up so beautifully it made us wonder why more people hadn’t opted for this setup … even with the interruption mid-ceremony from the resident donkey! Another overwhelming factor for us was of course the food, as we salivated over the menu and pictures, and then again during the Sunday Lunch tasting, everything was so delicious it made it incredibly hard to pick.

Whilst so many other aspects made our wedding day so perfect, Páraic and I feel so incredibly happy to have been able to host our day at Barnabrow, somewhere that will remain incredible close to our hearts for all those magical memories. Not to also forget the staff who were incredible from start to finish, and really brought the day together for us with such thoughtful little touches and giant smiles they made us and our guests feel like part of their family.
